USS Potomac History Tour

USS Potomac History Tour

From Barbara North

John and I are going on the USS Potomac History Tour on Thursday October 11, 2018.  I welcome you to join us if you have an interest in Naval History.  You will need to buy your own ticket online at
Adults: $75.00, Seniors $70.00.

The tour is 3 hours and leaves at 10:30. A box lunch will be served on board.  While we're cruising about the Bay, learn how FDR used the Potomac in a bit of subterfuge leading up to his meeting with Winston Churchill, to discuss the Atlantic Charter.

Come with us on the USS Potomac to explore the SF Bay, and how it became a very busy hub of WWII.

You'll see shipways where newly constructed boats and ships were built and launched.
We'll cruise past the old Naval Air Station, which was a major facility of aircraft repair, and from where Jimmy Doolittle loaded their B-25s aboard the USS Hornet, for our first bombing run over Tokyo.

The USS Potomac is located at 540 Water Street Oakland, CA

Parking: Washington Street Garage between 2nd and Embarcadero Streets, one block from the Potomac.

I hope to see you at the Potomac.  Barbara
